1826 died 2 April, 1899. Married Lauraney Limbaugh 2 September, 1849. Born 19 August, 1824 Died 4 November 1901. Parents of Mary Catherine Cook Limbaugh- wife of John W. Limbaugh. Both are buried in
Marquand Missouri area in Stephens Cemetery on Road 305 right off of Road 308
Goodspeed's History of Southeast Missouri, p. 866 George Cook, farmer and stock raiser of Madison County, MO., and a native of the
state, was born in 1826, being the son of George and Anna (Limbaugh) Cook. The father was born in North Carolina in 1790, and came to Missouri in 1812, llocating in Bollinger County, where he followed the
occupation of farming. His wife was born in Missouri, and became the mother of eight children, six of whom are living. She was born in 1799, and died in 1876. George Cook, Jr., was married to Louraney
Limbaugh, who was born in SE Missouri in 1824, and by her became the father of eight children, only five of whom survive: Sarah, Mary C., Frances H., George B., and Pernicia A. Mr. Cook and family are
members of the Methodist Church, and he is a Democrat, though not a partisan. His first presidential vote was cast for James K. Polk. He has an unusually intelligent family, and all are well educated. Miss
Pernicia is a highly successful educator. George B. is married and owns a fine farm of 100 acres. He has one child, Grover C. Mr. Cook, the subject of this sketch, after giving liberally to his
children, is yet the owner of 260 acres of good land. Children:1. Thomas J., Born 26 May 1850, died, 8

Moses Limbaugh
1859-1937 was the son of Elizabeth Killian and John P. Limbaugh. He married Frances A. Cook in 1879. Frances was born 1859-and died 1933. She was the daughter of Lauraney Limbaugh and George B. Cook Jr.. It is believed that Frances A. Cook and Moses Limbaugh were among the first to leave Missouri to go out West in 1900. They left Missouri in 1899 for Grand Junction, Colorado, where they built a comfortable home a few miles west of that city. Moses was born 1857 in Bollinger County, MO and died 1937 in Nevada, MO.
Moses and Francis returned to Missouri with one of their sons and are buried in Newton Cemetery in Nevada, Missouri.
Children of Francis A. Cook and Moses Limbaugh: 1. Adolphus Limbaugh 1879-1909 buried at Veteran's Crownpoint Cemetery near Appleton, Mesa,CO. 2. Bertha Limbaugh (1881) married Sanford Hawn
in Missouri where she gave birth to a son Earsley Hawn in 1903. Sanford died in 1905. Bertha is found in the 1910 census with husband of four years, Daniel F. Carey, in Grand Junction, Mesa,
CO. Carey listed his place of birth as CO. In 1930 Bertha is living with her third husband , Charles V. Maddox of Denver.
3. Harrison R. Limbaugh is also buried at Veteran's Crownpoint Cemetery 4. Lula May Limbaugh, born 1883 in Missouri; died 1908 5. Anna Lillie Limbaugh (1887) married Albert Burgess in
about 1906. Sons, Arthur (1906) and Eugene were born in Colorado and they are listed in the 1910 census in Grand junction. Anna Lillie was born Jan. 25, 1887 in MO; died Feb. 25, 1960 in San Bernardino
County, CA. 6. Cornelia Durinda Limbaugh (1890) 7. George O. Limbaugh 1890-1952. Married Esther E. 1898-XXXX buried at Newton Cemetery in Nevada, Missouri 8. A. McKinley Limbaugh

Mrs. Lavina L. Estes died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Bowman, at Sikeston(Mrs. W. C. Bowman was the former Emma Estes. She married
William Chesley Bowman)., on Sunday, the 10th inst. Mrs. Estes made her home with her son, Mr. J. H. Estes, at Burfordville, and was visiting her
daughter at the time of her death. She was the widow of the late Joseph Estes, and died aged 68 years. Her remains were brought home and buried in the
Gravel Hill cemetery on the 12th inst. Cash-Book Mrs. W. C. Bowman was the former Emma Estes.OBITUARY of Lavina L. Estes, from the

Lavina L. Estes died in Sikeston, Mo., November 10, 1901, at the residence of W. C. Bowman, and her remains were brought on the 11th to Jackson on the
train where a few of the friends met them. She was taken to her home in Burfordville and on the 12th the funeral was preached by Rev. Davault, and her
remains were laid in rest in the Old Gravel Hill cemetery. Grandma was born in Bollinger Co., Mo., in 1832 and was the daughter of Jacob Limbaugh.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Estes in 1847. To their union were born ten children, of which four are still living, and she leaves twenty-one
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She united with the Baptist church at Burfordville in August 1877. Snd: The Sisters of the Church. |
